GWGuardian Does a Great Cleanup Job at Penn State's
Office of Physical Plant
"We've been using GWGuardian for about two and a half years now and it has been working great. Before we switched to GWGuardian, we tried using another product which we never really got working properly due to the complexity of the setup and management. Our biggest pain has always been the amount of spam that hits us on a daily basis. This is the reality of academic departments in general. Users subscribe to different mailing lists and as a result the whole domain becomes a target for spammers. In fact, before we introduced GWGuardian in our GroupWise system, about 90% of the email that came into our server was spam. Now, all these unwanted messages don't even make it to GroupWise and server performance is always high.
"The implementation of GWGuardian was greeted with great enthusiasm by our users. As soon as we turned it on, people noticed a huge difference and were thrilled. As a network manager, I like GWGuardian because I don't have to manage it. It's easy to use, it catches the spam and viruses before they affect user productivity, and at the same time offers features, such as trusted lists, which allow us the flexibility to meet the demands of the different types of users in our department.
"I would recomend GWGuardian to all my colleagues in the academic sector. It has an impressive spam catch rate and requires minimal administration. What else could an IT professional ask for? In addition to the fact that GWGuardian is a superior product, I have always received quick and efficient client care from the Messaging Architects team. This was an important factor in my decision to choose GWArchive as the solution to tackle the exponential growth of email messages in my email system. The reality is that nobody is getting rid of anything, and user archives are getting very large while more and more data is getting corrupted. GWArchive offers various possibilities for dealing with GroupWise storage intelligently and will contribute to a significant improvement
to my GroupWise infrastructure."
