GWGuardian Does a Phenomenal Job for Clinton City School District
The Clinton City Schools District is comprised of four schools with a fifth one on the way. There are about 3000 enrolled students. Currently, only the 450 teachers and administrative staff have email accounts, but the plan is to extend the messaging platform to the students in the coming year. Currently, the school is using Novell’s GroupWise 6.5 with the intention of making NetMail available to the students in the future.
The IT Department has been using GWGuardian from Messaging Architects to protect the Clinton City Schools’ messaging infrastructure for about a year. Having tried a few other solutions available for the GroupWise market, they opted for GWGuardian due to the fact that it was more effective in securing their email environment and required very little management to achieve this.
"We also followed the recommendations of other organizations using GWGuardian," explains Edward Parker, Technology Director at the Clinton City Schools District. "We love it. It was super-easy to set up, it is very easy to manage, and we had no trouble teaching the users to take advantage of the reporting feature. They are very happy because they have the freedom to release messages that we may have trapped as spam, but they would like to receive."
"It’s amazing the difference GWGuardian has made on our network, too," continues Parker. "Since its implementation, we haven’t had a single viral infection. Before most of the virus problems we experienced were cause by email-borne viruses. Moreover, since GWGuardian keeps so much unwanted email and viruses out of our system, we have seen a significant improvement in GroupWise performance, as well. I can’t express enough how pleased I am with the product – it works flawlessly. We are also very pleased in the overall relationship we have with Messaging Architects and its strong commitment to Novell GroupWise."
"GWGuardian is a phenomenal product; we are recommending it everywhere and I couldn’t be more pleased with Messaging Architects. We are currently looking at our budget to expanding to other product offerings from the company," concludes Parker.
