Features GroupWise emails, tasks, appointments, contacts and more on your IPod

GWMyPod is a cool little application that takes GroupWise Appointments, Contacts, Tasks, Alarms, and even Email messages and put them on your iPod to be viewed by the native iPod Calendar, Notes, and Contact applications.

GWMyPod will take GroupWise Appointments, Contacts, Tasks, Alarms and even Email messages and put them on your iPod to be viewed by the native iPod Calendar, Notes, and Contact applications.

Requirements:

  • Windows XP or 2000
  • GroupWise 6 or higher
  • iPod enabled for disk use

Getting Started:

  • First, make sure your iPod is enabled for disk use. If it is Mac formatted, you will also need Xplay or a similar program to allow Windows to see your iPod as a disk drive.
  • Next, install GWMyPod by running setup.exe.
  • Plug your iPod in to a USB port and start GWMyPod: Start > All Programs > GWMyPod, providing your GroupWise password if prompted to do so.
  • GWMyPod should see your iPod as in the figure below:

Note: If GWMyPod does not see your iPod, verify that it is enabled for disk use and that your iPod is visible in My Computer.

Setting Preferences:

To set your sync preferences, go to Options > View or double-click in the body of the form.

Here you can select what you would like synchronized, choose an Address Book to sync, and select a Folder for transferring Email and/or Posted Note items.

Note: It's probably not a good idea to transfer your entire inbox.

Once you have set your preferences, click Sync. After synchronization has completed, you can eject your iPod by going to File > Eject iPod or Eject iPod and Exit .

Fun Facts

  • GWMyPod keeps individual preferences, so multiple users can sync their iPods on the same machine.
  • GWMyPod uses xml/xsl to transform GroupWise data, so you can customize what you see on your iPod provided it stays in spec for .ics and .vcf files.
