Much of what is transmitted through an email system constitutes records whose retention for a specific period of time is required by statutes or industry-specific regulations. A messaging archiving system that can index, store, and purge these records based on corporate policies is an important component of an overall messaging management strategy, particularly in government and heavily regulated industries, such as financial services and healthcare.
