Security Problems Solved for SRK Rechtsbijstand
SRK Rechtsbijstand provides legal assistance for 15 known Dutch insurance companies. SRK Rechtsbijstand works completely independently and with over 260 legal experts and lawyers and over 450 employees overall, is one of the largest providers of legal services of The Netherlands. Originally, SRK Rechtsbijstand needed an archiving solution for their GroupWise system and they were interested to learn more about GWArchive. Bram Blijleven, Systems Engineer at SRK Rechtsbijstand, explains: "I attended the GroupWise Discovery Workshop to learn more about GWArchive. During the Messaging Architects presentation, I was introduced to GWGuardian and I immediately realized it could solve a lot of our excising spam-issues. At that point, we were literally flooded with spam. And we were sick of it! It took a lot of our time to go through emails we didn’t even want to receive!"
After seeing a demonstration at the workshop of GWGuardian, SRK decided to try GWGuardian in-house and after a very positive evaluation, the company purchased the GWGuardian messaging firewall.
"We did the installation ourselves, based on the experience we acquired during the workshop and using the product documentation," Blijleven continues. "We didn't have any difficulties with the installation. The Messaging Architects support engineers helped us fine-tune the software so that we could best meet our needs. The integration of anti-spam and anti-virus works perfectly for us. We even took this opportunity to discontinue the existing AV scanning of email messages since GWGuardian offered an integrated anti-virus functionality built into the security engine.
"The end users are very happy that the spam problem was effectively resolved. The IT-department isn't bothered by employees who complain about their spam-problem any more and my team has more time to dedicate themselves to other projects in our environment."
Now that version 4.2 of GWGuardian offers WebAccess support, SRK is planning to implement WebAccess as an alternative for their end users. Until now, GroupWise WebAccess wasn’t available at SRK due to certain security risks it posed. Now, this risk is eliminated as anti-virus scanning of email sent through the GroupWise WebAccess client is handled by the GWGuardian 4.2 WebAccess AV Scanner. As a result, SRK has decided to go ahead with the deployment of GroupWise WebAccess company-wide.
SRK Rechtsbijstand is so satisfied with the benefits it is getting from GWGuardian, the company has also ordered GWArchive, the email retention solution from Messaging Architects that SRK had originally set out to inquire into at the GroupWise Discovery Workshop in the spring of 2004 and is showing serious interest in GWAnywhere
