Prinsenstichting Very Happy with GWAnywhere and Consider Purchasing GWArchive
Prinsenstichting is a healthcare foundation that serves people with mental disabilities in the region of Zaanstreek – Waterland in The Netherlands. Clients from Amsterdam also make use of the services of Prinsenstichting. Prinsenstichting specializes in providing special care, support and developing suitable solutions people with mental disabilities and erratic behaviour manage their day-to-day living, work and recreation.
Albert Stevens, IT clustermanager, works at the Prinsenstichting Headquarters in Purmerend and explains more about the foundation’s objectives: "We offer people with problematic behaviour help both individually and in groups. Representatives from the management team are on the road a lot and need to be able to plan meetings and schedule appointments whenever they want independent of where they are."
The Prinsenstichting mobile staff had to deal with a lot of issues in order to be able to synchronize the variety of mobile devices they use. Albert Stevens explains the nature of the problems: "We used to work with Activesync and Intellisync to sync GroupWise to the PDAs. There were numerous problems with software corruption and synchronization errors. At one point we had to reinstall Activesync and as a result lost some PocketPC IDs. It was very frustrating to deal with these problems, so I decided to look for another solution. Contacts in other businesses introduced me to GWAnywhere and pointed out that it was a very stable solution. In fact, GWAnywhere is virtually the only enterprise-grade solution that works great with GroupWise! We started testing GWAnywhere with a pilot group and were very happy with it. The only thing missing was the Autosync, but this problem is now solved since we implemented push."

Albert Stevens continues: "We have been using Messaging Architects' GWAnywhere for more than a year and a half now and the benefits are amazing. Our GroupWise environment is more stable, we spend less time on device management and the solution's uasbility is very high for end users. Subjects like appointments, meetings and days off are much easier to manage. Prinsenstichting Foundation has shown serious interest in GWArchive, Messaging Architects' solution for intelligent email retention, regulatory compliance, and storage management. "We are starting up with a 30-day evaluation project to see if the solution suits our needs. Due to legal discovery we need to be able to store our data for at least five years and we are also looking for a product that's also easy to manage," Stevens concludes.
