Messaging Architects Suite of Products Helps Hampden PCG
Hampden Private Capital Ltd, operating in the Lloyd's of London insurance market and whose focus is to manage the affairs of private capital providers, provides news, research and advice about the Lloyd’s insurance market. Hampden is a long-time Novell client currently running GroupWise 6.5 for its messaging needs.
"The main goal of the IT department at Hampden is to provide effective systems to our users enabling them to give the best possible service to our clients, using solutions that both enhance productivity and are easy to both implement and maintain," explains Andrew Hough, IT Director at Hampden Private Capital.
"We started the relationship with Messaging Architects about two years ago when we were looking for an anti-spam solution. Our users started to complain about increasing numbers of unwanted messages creeping into the email system. We considered using a hosted service for anti-spam management but decided that this did not give users easy self-management. We discovered Messaging Architects' GWGuardian solution on the Novell website, where the product was featured. GWGuardian was easy to install and is extremely easy to use for our end users. The quarantine reports and the real-time web-based quarantine access gave them the flexibility and control they needed and provided straightforward message release. GWGuardian does everything well, is cost effective, we don't have to manage it at all, and we don't spend anytime worrying about it. At the same time, we keep our email system protected from undesirable internet-borne threats.
"As our client executives have to travel not only throughout the UK, but also in the USA, Australia, South Africa, we wanted to facilitate their job by making their GroupWise messages, appointments and contacts available to them at all times. We had decided to implement a corporate mobile phone contract and took the opportunity to broaden the project to include remote access to our GroupWise system. We were asked by staff to implement the Blackberry system, but we looked at the alternatives, and after receiving a demo of GWAnywhere and the Treo 600 handset from a UK-based Messaging Architects sales executive decided that this offered a solution that fitted our criteria – great functionality, easy to use, easy to manage and cost effective. We initially installed an evaluation copy and have now implemented the GWAnywhere system using Palm Treo 650. It has been one of our best received system changes, with nothing but praise from the users."
