GWAnywhere Works Great for GGZ Regio Breda
GGZ Regio Breda offers specialized, mental care to young people, adults and the elderly in the region of Breda (Etten-Leur, Breda, Oosterhout, & Almkerk) in the south of The Netherlands. About 1300 employees in various positions are responsible for the care and services of approximately 10,000 people per year.
GGZ Regio Breda’s core activities are:

public mental health care.
The care offered by GGZ Regio Breda varies from outpatient care to 24-hour hospital screening and stay. With regard to the care they provide, the institute's approach is to allow patients to remain on their own as much and as long possible: in their own social, school or work, living environment.
Olav Bodelier, staff service IT at GGZ Region Breda explains: "In the summer of 2004 we implemented a solution for mobility that would help us to be more efficient and productive as a company. We took the advice from our house supplier of ICT solutions, AACCosmos, and started testing GWAnywhere. It seemed to be the only product which was completely satisfactory and addressed all our needs. Usually, when we test new software, the reason is that we have a problem that needs to be solved; but this time around, the request for a mobility solution came before anything had occurred. The management and staff realized that in today's dynamic age, being mobile is an advantage that improves productivity and enhances the quality of service offered by the organization."
With about 25 PDA users, mostly HP Ipaqs, GGZ Region Breda wanted a product that could synchronize their GroupWise calendars anywhere, anytime.
Olav Bodelier continues: "The GWAnywhere installation only took the specialists of AACCosmos and Messaging Architects one day. We have been using GWAnywhere for over a year now and are very satisfied with its functionality. We evaluated GWAnywhere in the context of the PDAs within the organization and the end-user experience. The results speak for themselves."
Only 10% of the GWAnywhere users was not satisfied with the ease of use in synchronizing GroupWise with GWAnywhere. The primary reasons for these reactions were mostly due to issues with the hand-held devices themselves, such as low battery life, etc.
The only enhancement that GGZ Regio Breda requires of GWAnywhere, namely, synching Groups in the address book, will be solved in the next version of the solution.
Olav Bodelier concludes: "90% of the PDA users use their hand-held devices to replace their paper-based agendas, because the end-user experience of synchronizing GroupWise with GWAnywhere is so positive. We are very pleased with this solution for GroupWise and would recommend it to other organizations with similar needs to ours."
