Detroit Regional Chamber: Our Investment in the GWGuardian Appliance Was Well Worth It
We needed an effective Spam solution to provide perimeter defense for our organization, the Detroit Regional Chamber. We were literally bombarded with Spam. Many of our users were spending a good deal of their time each day sifting through the Spam in their mailbox. Of course, this had a negative impact on productivity. Prior to settling on GWGuardian+ AV, we looked at many Spam solutions. In the end, we felt that GWGuardian would best meet our needs.
GWGuardian offers a solution that is very easy to administer. We especially like the Virus & Spam Report feature. This report is automatically sent to the users who have messages that are in the quarantine folder. The users then can determine whether these messages are actually Spam or whether they were blocked in error. This empowers the end users and takes this load off of the administrator.
Implementing GWGuardian+ AV took approximately 30 minutes. The process was done over the phone and via the Internet. The technician who helped me with the installation was very thorough and answered all of my questions. Everything had been planned in advance, so there were no obstacles to overcome during the actual installation. The investment we made in the GWGuardian Appliance was well worth it - we received the appliance fully configured, all we had to do was put it behind our firewall and let it do its job.
Since we implemented GWGuardian as our anti-spam and anti-virus solution, I’ve received extremely favorable responses from those end users who used to receive large volumes of Spam. We immediately noticed a dramatic drop in Spam messages. Finally, our end users can spend their time handling legitimate email as opposed to sifting through Spam. The users definitely see the value in GWGuardian and appreciate the fact that we decided to implement it.
To sum up, we’re very pleased with GWGuardian+ AV appliance. The amount of Spam has been greatly reduced and we also feel more secure knowing that GWGuardian is also checking for and protecting us from Viruses.
