With ever growing demands burdening our organization for email retention and security from viruses and spam, we closely evaluated our current practices and software and felt we had short comings in these areas. We did not meet the needs of regulatory compliance and that a true secure and-self maintaining solution for our email system was not there. Our antiquated spam and virus solution was becoming labour intensive with high rates of false positives and unreliable virus detection, resulting in many hundreds of messages per day falsely quarantined. Long-term message storage was nearing critical levels and taxing the existing infrastructure to its limits. Archival of messages needed to be performed manually which simply became unacceptable and widely discouraged.
Being a strong advocate and long time supporter of Novell products, we were already familiar with the reputation of the Messaging Architects' product line. We felt that GWArchive would meet or exceed our criteria for a robust archival storage solution and the security offered by GWGuardian was legendary, given that it is being used by Novell themselves: an endorsement that speaks volumes.
GWGuardian was a plug-and-play solution for us and was operational in less than one hour after removing it from the packaging. An immediate and dramatic reduction in false positives and spam of nearly 38% during its first week in operation was a welcome addition. With its added web features, auto-updating engines and ultra-reliability, it is easy to forget it is there sometimes. It has been one of the few products which truly lived up to its claims for "ROI".
GWArchive has performed equally as well as GWGuardian and allows us to publish our users' mailboxes nightly and aids in offloading storage from our main GroupWise servers to other servers and media. Post office size is reduced and GroupWise remains quick and efficient. Among the best features in GWArchive is its connection with WebAccess for simple user-friendly access to archives from anywhere, a feature our Lawyers greatly appreciate. This feature also gives us a solution for proxy WebAccess users which never existed in GroupWise before.
Of course many products are only as good as their support and the Messaging Architects Sales Team and Technical Support are exceptional in addressing any issues or questions we have had in a clear and timely fashion. I could not see our network being as efficient without the Messaging Architects products.
