What is it about summertime that makes you want to just kick back and take it easy? Even in the most Type-A of organizations, many projects go into a holding pattern until September rolls around. But, for those of us entrusted with messaging security, there are no lazy days of summer.
Now, more than ever, it's vital to be aware of the latest spam and virus threats. Even just a few weeks ago, a group of email worms infected more than 50,000 PCs, commandeering them for attacks on high-profile sites in the U.S. And South Korea. Educate your users about the dangers out there. Most important, protect your gateway. It's great that we see the occasional victory in the war to curtail spam, but YOU are your first - and most effective - line of defense.
