FIDIt 2.0

FIDIt is a GUI wrapper for the GroupWise FID Editor. The GroupWise FID Editor renames the internal three-character userid in an archive so it can be associated with another user. This is particularly useful when a user has been moved between Post Offices and the user FID no longer matches the archive, or when a user leaves a company and the archive needs to be associated with a different user.

FIDIt helps avoid the common errors encountered when using the FID Editor. It eliminates the need to remember the command syntax and checks for essential files and file rights. It also saves settings so that subsequent renames are easier to accomplish.

FIDIt is compatible with Groupwise 5.5 and higher.

• GroupWise 5.5 and 6.0 operation: Just use the file selector to indicate the archive db and GroupWise domain, enter the new FID and press the "Change FID" button. The results are displayed in the product panel.
• GroupWise 6.5 and 7.0 operation: Use the same procedure as for the pre-6.5 version or you can also let FIDIt find the domain from your GroupWise client login.
