Messaging Architects seeks to defeat dramatic rise in problematic Snow-Shoe Spamming
Incorporates Spamhaus Project's new Composite Snow-Shoe Block List with Award-Winning Email Security Gateway
Montreal, Canada – October 29, 2009 - Messaging Architects, global experts in email risk management, announced today that M+Guardian, its award-winning platform for email security and acceptable use policy enforcement, will incorporate Spamhaus’ newly announced Composite Snow-Shoe (CSS) block list to combat the dramatic rise in Snow-Shoe spamming.
Snow-Shoe spamming is the fastest growing type of spam, representing up to 50% of overall volume. It is particularly insidious as it appears to come from seemingly legitimate, uncompromised IP addresses. The Snow Shoe name originates from techniques invented by Spammers to "spread their weight" in order to avoid triggering automated filters. Using these techniques, they use many small IP ranges on many Internet Service Providers (ISPs), which in turn use many different domains that rapidly change IP addresses.
Full information on the new Spamhaus CSS can be found at http://www.spamhaus.org/css/ and in this very interesting article. Both existing and new M+Guardian clients will automatically benefit from the enhanced performance of this new Block List.
M+Guardian integrates anti-malware, anti-spam, content filtering and data-leak prevention in a single easy-to-manage solution. Delivered either as an appliance or a virtual machine for rapid integration into fully virtualized server stacks, it intelligently filters inbound and outbound email according to individuals’ roles and responsibilities. The result is seamless enforcement of corporate usage policies and a dramatic reduction in the cost and complexity of managing email risk.
