QA Test Automation Engineer

What You'll Do...

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of the test automation infrastructure in a RQM/RTF/Python environment.
  • Develop and execute automated and regression test suites using functional testing and regression tools, which will require scripting.
  • Integrate test suites into the test management system (Rational Quality Manager).
  • Execute and integrate unit tests into the test automation harness.
  • Develop and integrate test validation tools which will likely require programming in Python, C# or other appropriate scripting languages as deemed necessary.
  • Write test plans and test cases from product functional specs or marketing product documents. Ensure 100% testing coverage.
  • Interface with Development Engineers to get bugs documented and fixed.
  • Monitor the bug-tracking database, track all their bugs, and follow-up on progress of their completion. Review and validate all bugs for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
Required Skills...
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality with a passion for testing
  • 5+ years of SQA on enterprise-level software products
  • Track record of shipping high quality market-leading products.
  • B.Sc. Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience managing and participating in all aspects/types of software testing including unit testing, functional testing, integration testing, system testing, performance testing, and QA.
  • Knowledge of Software Test / Quality Assurance methodologies and application of those methodologies.
  • Experience in functional and automated testing as well as automation tools.
  • Experience testing large scale enterprise products on Windows and Linux.
  • Must be tenacious about finding bugs, following up with the responsible team member, and ensuring that the bugs are fixed in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to participate effectively in estimation, planning, cost-of-quality, and quality risk analysis is desired.
  • Experience with Rational Quality Manager and Rational Functional Tester is a plus.
  • Excellent written and spoken French is considered an asset
